Congratulations to Romalta Santos Vazquez, Joanna Milla, David Ramirez and Eusebio Antonio who are now in college. For them, it is a goal achieved and a dream come true, made possible with scholarships awarded by The Hope Fund. The scholarships are available to all students who, like them, participated in our charitable program’s after-school learning and mentoring assistance for migrant children while they attended kindergarten through fifth grade at Wimauma and Reddick elementary schools in Wimauma, Florida. Romalta is studying to be a nurse at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Joanna is majoring in criminology and David in studio art at the University of South Florida in Tampa. And Eusebio just entered Hillsborough Community College in Tampa to seek a degree to be decided, but probably in business. The scholarship, provides supplementary funds that can be used for tuition. “The success of The Hope Fund over the past 28 years has enabled us to give our grade-school children an enrichening head-start learning experience, and also lend them another helping hand to continue their education with this new and exciting program when they graduate from high school,” says Carla Miles, The Hope Fund’s founder.
